Dr. Kelly Barnett, MSc, MD

FRCPC, Internal Medicine

ABIM Internal Medicine, ABPS Integrative Medicine

I am a physician double-board certified in Internal Medicine (in the US and Canada) and Integrative Medicine (in the US). My practice is centered on the belief that true healing is multidimensional – encompassing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of well-being. When the body speaks with illness, I believe it must be viewed like a symphony – each part working together – to uncover the root cause of illness.

A Passion for Creativity

My passion for creativity in healing was ignited by a deeply personal experience. When my father was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia and given a dire prognosis, I witnessed how his journey toward emotional and spiritual growth, supported by family love, contributed to his remarkable ten-year survival. This experience inspired me to explore the messages hidden within disease and the healing potential that exists within each of us.

In addition to my clinical work, I have published research on the neuroscience of creativity and its impact on adaptive emotional regulation and healing outcomes. My recent study, published in Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience, investigates the intricate relationship between creativity, brain function, and well-being.

I also facilitate healing retreats where I guide participants in understanding how the foods they eat affect their blood glucose through the use of continuous glucose monitors. These retreats offer experiential healing through a series of carefully curated creative activities designed to promote holistic well-being.

I am committed to helping others unlock their innate healing potential by integrating scientifically grounded treatments with the transformative power of creative expression.
